*Soldado is in his white room. He is staring at the poster in the back. The typical soldier. The soldier that all should be like. The one that is perfect and can do no wrong. Soldado’s fist clinch in rage as he steps back, not wanting to do what he wants to do. He walks over to the chair in th emiddle of the room and sits in it. His eyes do not match the expression his body is showing and his voice doesn’t match either.*
Soldado: I have to fight Shane Ralston. The Director of Authority. All my life, and all through my military career I have been told the authority is the only thing that differentiates us from primitive man. Then the “authority” told us to kill. Like primitive man. I have a problem with authority. And Ralston, I’m going to take it out on you.
*Soldado stands up and whispers something incoherent. He moves over to the poster in the back. He places his hand on the poster’s glass and hangs his head. Again, his body is showing shame, but his voice does not project it and it’s a little confusing.*
Soldado: Authority...made me this way… it made me who I am. It made me do the things I have done. I cant stand myself now. I have made it so my mind is going. Hell’s Army attacked me for no reason. I have been put on a team where I don’t care about either of the guys. What is going on? Authority is still trying to make me do things I don’t want to do. It’s doing it all over again. I can’t get over it. I’m being controlled still. It’s driving me to be the old me. I don’t want to be the old me. The old me will end up doing things that I’ll regret. I don’t want to do that. It’s just… I’m getting tired of this.
*Soldado sits back in the chair. He hangs his head for a second the brings it back up. He looks directly into the camera. His eyes show a face of apologetic type. He seems like he is talking not as himself. He seems to be talking straight to the audience.*
Soldado: Look, guys, I’m gonna be straight with you. I just haven’t been myself. Something is telling em that I should stop this charade and start acting like I should. Like myself. Like I want to be. Lockdown is coming up and I have to represent my team. Deamon, EZ, both of those guys are counting on me and I can’t let them down. I’m gonna beat Ralston, not because he’s authority, but because he’s on a different team and I have to win. That simple. No military influence. No supernatural thing. Just straight up because our team needs the points and we need to win. Deamon’s about to win the US Title and EZ… well, I’m about to be Shane.
*Soldado satnds up and looks at the camera again. He places his hand on the bottom of the mask as if he’s gonna pull it off, but he doesn’t.*
Soldado: You know what. I’m not gonna do that just yet. I’m gonna wait for Lockdown. I’m gonna show all of you who I really am then. Yes, I am not Soldado Fortun. I’m not gonna tell you who I am just yet. Just think of it. OTB changes names. I change names. I change my persona to who I really am. You’ll know it then. I might as well us this persona for one more match. It seems to be working anyway. I’ll see you all out there.
*Soldado moves out of the picture. The camera stays focused on the chair, but we can here Soldado say something as he leaves.*
Soldado: I still can’t believe you made me do this Deamon.
