Sunday. Usually, a day of rest for many. For T-Neff, it is a day of training. He needs to be in top shape, because if he is, that maximizes the chances Neff is not on the outside looking in at the main event at One Ring. All he has to do: Simple. Beat BomberJake and Saul Hudsen. Not a difficult task, given that the two men completely forgot there was a third man in the mix. Him. As the scene begins, Neff is sitting up from a bench press, obviously after completing his third set. He smiles before talking.
Title shots. They don't come around often, and if you dont do it.................*snaps fingers* it's gone like that. Very soon, I have a chance to be part of OTB's first ever PPV main event, a ladder match at One Ring. And the only obstacles in my way are BomberJake and Saul Hudsen? Come on.
Ok. First, you got BomberJake. From what I have seen and heard, he is a decent wrestler. But decent doesn't cut it when you face T-Neff in that ring. You need to be great. Don't believe me, just ask Deshaun. He found out last week. And another thing..............you actually use a fisherman's suplex as your finisher? That's it? You're gonna have to find something a little more painful than that in order to claim victory in this one, buddy.
And we've got Saul Hudsen. A little bigger than me, but not by much. And then, Deshaun found out last week that size don't matter. It's not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man, Saul. And let me tell you this. On any given night, no one on god's green earth or satan's blue hell has more fight than me. Hell, I was attacked in the middle of my match last week, and still managed to win. Have you ever done that, Saul? Didn't think so.
The Main event. Something that is supposed to be more interesting than the other matches. Instead, this week it will be a very short match. Victory is never assured in this business, people get screwed out of matches very easily. But it is as close to being assured as it gets here in OTB. So Saul can chill with his sisters in L.A, and BomberJake can get tattoos in Malibu. But as for him, T-Neff, he will be training, watching tape, looking for a way to make the match easier than it already is. Which is actually saying a lot.
Neff: Everyone is in this business for multiple reasons. But one thing that is the same with everyone? They all want the title. And they all work their asses off, and through their blood, sweat, and tears, they realize that goal. Do you know how that feels? I have felt it twice. And I've got a good feeling about having it a third time very soon.
Neff smiles. He knows that BomberJake and Saul are going to come with everything they got, because they want the title just as bad as he does. No, Neff wants it more. That's why he isn't in Malibu getting a tattoo. No, that can wait. A title shot won't wait for anyone. Which is why Neff became a hall of famer in WCWF. He took advantage of every opportunity given him, and made sure that when it was all said and done, he was the only man to hold the WCWF heavyweight strap twice in the last decade. It is because of things like that, that make his career what it is. Of course, that is the past, and will stay in the past. But the future is looking as good as the past ever did.
Neff: I have waited almost 16 months to get a shot like this. 15 months of retirement, and 1 month almost of just being here. And I am not going to let this slip out of my grasp. Nothing is given to you here. You have to take it. And Showtime will take it. "It's Showtime, baby!"
Neff smiles at the camera as the scene fades out.
